Digital Nova Scotia is seeking a Digital Marketing Specialist to support our Marketing & Communications team. As a part time role (8-10 hours/week), we are open to various arrangements such as part time employee, independent contractor, fractional consultant, etc. Hourly compensation will reflect the arrangement.
This role is ideal for someone who loves both the creative and analytical sides of marketing and knows how to turn insights into action.
Reporting to the Manager, Marketing & Communications, the Digital Marketing Specialist will play a key role in helping us reach audiences across Nova Scotia through thoughtful, data-driven digital marketing efforts. This role will support the planning, execution, and optimization of digital campaigns that align with Digital Nova Scotia’s brand, goals, and social media strategy. The Digital Marketing Specialist will work closely with the Marketing & Communications Manager and collaborate with the broader Digital Nova Scotia team as needed. Flexibility, clear communication, and a proactive approach are key to success in this role.
The Digital Marketing Specialist will support Digital Nova Scotia with a range of digital marketing activities, including but not limited to:
- Managing and optimizing Google Ads / Google AdWords and other paid digital advertising campaigns, including planning, execution, and evaluation
- Supporting SEO efforts, including keyword research, performance tracking, and recommendations for improvement
- Supporting basic website maintenance and updates
- Creating digital marketing and graphic design assets to support Digital Nova Scotia programs, initiatives, events, and evergreen content
- Supporting the implementation of Digital Nova Scotia’s social media strategy, with a focus on content and campaigns that resonate with audiences across the province
- Analyzing campaign performance and audience data to identify what’s working, opportunities for optimization, and areas for improvement
- Providing regular, actionable insights and recommendations based on performance metrics, trends, and analytics
This role may be a great fit if you’re someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy, creativity, and analytics - someone who enjoys diving into numbers just as much as crafting compelling digital experiences. You’re curious, analytical, and always looking for ways to optimize performance and reach new audiences.
You bring:
- Strong experience with digital advertising platforms
- A solid understanding of SEO best practices
- Experience with WordPress and comfort making routine website updates
- An eye for design and an understanding of what performs well online
- Comfort working with data, analytics, and performance reporting
- An ability to balance creativity with strategy, and experimentation with results
